Global Vibrants Show

Hi everyone!

Because the Worldbridges Network has its First Anniversary this weekend, we are going to have a Special Edition of GV. We are going to broadcast on Saturday early morning 1am GMT (click HERE for global hours) and Saturday night at 10pm GMT (click HERE for global hours).

Go HERE for our SPECIAL Webcastathon Schedule.

I’m going to announce some major changes on GV that will happen soon.

Remember that to listen to Global Vibrants you need a software that is able to read .aac files (for example Winamp www.winamp.com).

Cheers,

Conrad

Hello Everyone!

I’m glad to announce that last week’s show when we used the new encoder aac+ was a great success. The stream was perfect, the quality was excellent and in fact, we did the show for 2 hours! Thus, we are going to have the next show (#7) this Saturday night at 10pm GMT (click HERE for global hours). Remember, that you need freeware Winamp software (www.winamp.com) to be able to listen to us.

We are going to talk about the new service run by Skype called Skypcasts and we are going to talk about the new Skype 2.5 beta. This week, we are also going to touch upon some politics, like the situation in the Middle East and the EU-US relations toward Iran and Iraq. Like always, we are going to play a lot of good music!

Feel free to skype us and participate. Our skype ID: globalvibrants

Show #6 is ready for downloading! It is encoded with .aac+ encoder, which gives a much better quality than mp3 with lower bitrate. Unfortunately our flash player on the website doesn’t support the .aac extension but we are working on it.

This show was very interesting and actually it’s 2 hours long! I was starting the show at least 4 times, which you can listen to (I didn’t delete it on purpose!). Then Doug Symington called me. We were talking about the PeopleTalk Podcast (www.peopletalk.org), which is done and organized by Nigel Killick from the United Kingdom.

Afterwards, I called Sebastian Prooth who is a podcaster and a blogger. These are few links to his websites: Podcast Periodical, Global Geek Podcast, Seb’s Random Thoughts, From the Director’s Chair Podcast

Sebastian and I talked about many many things and we were making fun of each other. We also talked about the Ogrish website (I don’t give you a direct link since this website is suitable for people who are 18 years old or older).

Kevin Jones joined us at the end of the show and I’m going to invite him next time!

There will be a new edition of the Global Vibrants Show. Why new? Well, it looks like Anna won’t be able to host it with me. I have to still discuss it with her. Another things is that I will stream using a new AAC+ encoder and I have prepared few interesting topics to talk about, including a special guest from the UK. So don’t waste your time in front of the TV on Saturday night! JOIN US LIVE on Saturday night 10 p.m. GMT (click here for global times).

Cheers

Hello everyone!

I wish I had better news for you :(   We are having new problems this time. The problem is with our new internet provider. It seems that he blocks or at least interupts streaming to the server. We thought at the beginning that it could be bandwith problem with uploading but it doesn’t look like since we can use skype without any problems and even sometimes skype uses more bandwith that our stream. We will do some testings next week and we will keep you informed.

Today, Sunday 9th, 2006, we will have a very SPECIAL edition of Global Vibrants. First of all, we will be a part of WebcastAcademy.net. Secondly, we will have a guest during our show.

Todays show will start at 3 GMT like always, however, for those who are in the summer time (GMT+2), she show will start at 5 pm.

 Anna and Conrad

Unfortunately, we won’t have the show for the next couple of Sunday (March 26th and April 2nd). So to answer possible questions: NO! It isn’t the end of the show! Conrad just doesn’t have time during next weekends and Anna is PC-handicapped haha and she can’t do it by herself and operate the software.

But keep visiting our website for more news. We will try to put the last show (#4) on the website asap.

Anna and Conrad

Welcome!

This is the Global Vibrants Show #3 from March 12, 2006.

We had a great pleasure to interview Sebastian Prooth from The Director’s Chair Podcast (www.fromthedirectorschair.com).  We talked about blogging, Sebastian’s Blog, Seb’s Random Thoughts (http://tektrekgamer.blogspot.com) and his experience as an American living in the UK.

During the rest of the show Anna and Conrad talked about funny stories about different cultures, their own experiences as expats and cultural stereotypes.

They also argued about differences between women vs. men and Conrad read few pick up lines at the end of the show (you can’t miss it>check it out!)

Like always, he played few nice tracks from the Open Music Portal  (currently inly in Polish)

Download MP3

The next show will be on Sunday, March 19 @ 3 pm GMT.

We will be talking about:

- Discrimination

- Conflict between immigrants and native Dutch

- Death of Milosovich

- New French employment legislation

Remember to join us in the Chat Room during live broadcasting!

Show #2 is out!

This is still a test podcast since we have some problems with our hardware so the voice quality is not so good. However, we did our best to make it better.

During Show #2 we discussed some cultural differences including different coffee preferences. Anna and I also argued who is smarter: men or women!

We were talking about James Whittingham’s podcast (http://www.jameswhittingham.com)

and we skyped Jeff Lebow from Worldbridges to give us a teaser about a special edition of the EdtechShow #36 about Internet Security.
